I was expecting the current model with the temp guage and larger water pan not old inventory.
These are minor issues. I would also add a visual indication to show locked position on the door. I had to fabricate a sheet netal adapter for the chimney so that I can add charcol.
It was OK but it took alot attention to keep the temp constant. This smoker is easy to use and works well. I had a horizontal smoker with the fire box on the side previously.
The only thing I would change is to make the opening for the door larger so that a Weber coal chimney can fit in to add charcoal. I would definitely recommend this smoker. My neighbor and his brother both have the Weber and highly recommended it.
The are both avid smokers.
Pay the extra money and get this smoker. by far the easiest and best smoker on the smoker. I have never used a smoker befor and had a restraunt quality result th every first time.
With some practice and experimenting with woods, you will be making some fine BBQ. If you`re looking to step up to Pit Master status, the WSM is a must have. Visit www.virtualweberbullet.com for more info so fine that you and your family will hesitate to eat at some BBQ joint. I`ve owned the WSM for a year now and love it. The WSM is perfect for someone who appreciates true BBQ and does not mind the time and dedication to maintaining this unit as it smokes ribs and brisket (7-10 hours) to pulled pork (16-24 hours).
Although it is hard to move around, it is very easy to use and works great. This smoker should last a long time. I checked this smoker against the cheaper ones that Lowes and Home Depot sell. The Weber 2820 is made better and is much sturdier than the other smokers.
